How do I reserve a place?
Submit an application through this site. Our tour manager will contact you with registration documents and payment details. A $2,000 non-refundable deposit per person confirms your space, and the full itinerary is sent once the deposit is received.
When is final payment due?
Final payment for the Egypt 2027 expedition is due no later than January 15, 2027. Failure to remit final payment may result in cancellation of your reservation.
What is the cancellation policy?
All cancellations must be submitted in writing. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Cancellations before January 1, 2027 may receive up to 50% refund of payments made beyond the deposit. From January 1, 2027 no cash refunds are issued; approved balances may be applied as future tour credit.
How do I pay?
Wire transfer is preferred, and PayPal is available for convenience. For other payment methods, email templartraveltours@gmail.com.
Do I need travel insurance?
It is strongly recommended, including trip cancellation, medical coverage, emergency evacuation and baggage protection. Suggested providers include Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, Allianz, Travel Guard by AIG, GeoBlue and Medjet.
What about visas for Egypt?
Most travelers from the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and many European countries can obtain a tourist visa online or on arrival. We recommend obtaining it at Cairo International Airport. You will need a valid passport, one blank page, roughly $30 USD for a single entry, and proof of onward travel.
What should I pack?
Lightweight breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sandals, a light jacket for evenings, sun hat, sunglasses, swimsuit, SPF 50+ sunscreen, electrolytes, hand sanitizer, a refillable water bottle, universal adapter (Type C/F), a flashlight for tombs, and a journal.
Is tipping expected?
Baksheesh is customary in Egypt. Suggested daily per guest: tour host $10–20, tour manager $5–10, Egyptologist guides $5–10, drivers $3–5, Nile cruise staff $5–10, plus small gratuities for hotel staff and porters.
Can the itinerary change?
Templar Travel Tours may modify the itinerary due to government restrictions, site closures, weather, security or circumstances beyond our control. Special access is granted through Egyptian authorities and remains subject to final approval; equivalent experiences are provided wherever possible.
